THE EPITAPH OF DOUGAL MC DOUGAL

 

Mark ye this plot!

Here lies a mighty man!

His name was Dougal McDougal

Of the Dougal McDougal clan.

He spent his days in many ways

But the thing he loved to do was pipe.

The Piper Dougal he was called

And piped the whole of life.

But mark ye yet the irony

That this too was his demise.

For he piped his pipe entirely

And never sanitized.

The piper bug has claimed his name

And made his death an issue.

Dougal McDougal of clan the same,

When ye hear a piper's sad refrain,

Remember this and offer him a tissue.
